Thank you for your support

Malice Farm Solar Farm & Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will support our fight against climate change through generating significant amounts of renewable energy, while also helping manage the imbalances in supply and demand of electricity through the national grid. BESS facilities play an important role in ensuring a stable and resilient electricity network and help avoid blackouts.

The project would provide capacity to generate 49.9MW of clean and renewable energy.

Malice Farm Solar and BESS would make a positive contribution towards Peterborough City Council’s target of achieving net-zero by 2030, whilst also improving steps towards domestic energy independence.

Further benefits:

  • The project will provide a scheme of landscape and ecological improvements to ensure a significant biodiversity net gain is achieved.

  • We believe that it’s right that the community closest to the site is able to benefit from it. A community benefit fund will be set up to help fund local projects.

  • Should our application be successful, Peterborough City Council will earn significant revenue from business rates generated throughout the project lifecycle. This will directly help fund local services.
